Please recommend something effective for cold sores. I want to try famciclovir. Has anyone had bad reaction to this medication?

I always apply Zovirax cold sore cream (it's acyclovir). It works well for me, especially when used as soon as possible (in the early stage).

My wife uses Zovirax or Novitra cold sore cream. Says they are both good.
