My girlfriend has diabetes. Her doctor had prescribed DiaBeta. I found lots of information about this medication but almost nothing about its effectiveness. I would like to know if anyone has been on DiaBeta?
Thanks.

DiaBeta is given to patients with type 2 diabetes. There is a lack of insulin for Type 2 diabetes, maybe because of its low production or for some other reasons.
DiaBeta, a sulfonylurea which acts to stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin, will try to correct the deficiency.
The effectiveness works individually, it will depend on how the body takes it. For some, it may be effective, and for others, not. You can try to observe for a while on its effectiveness. If you see positive results, then DiaBeta is effective for your girlfriend. However, if there is no visible result seen, then you may want to ask for another drug.
